UNT Microsoft Server Support
The Network Computing Services team offers complete support for the Microsoft Server platform along with its associated applications. This includes planning, installation and support for Windows Server 2000/2003 and Active Directory plus basic support for server applications such as MS SQL Server and Internet Information Server. If you encounter an issue that cannot be handled by our team, we can turn to Microsoft Premier Support for a resolution.
Microsoft Premier Support is our contract with Microsoft that allows us access to support services beyond what is available to the public. Our contract includes access to Premier Online that houses Partner-Level knowledge base articles and direct access to Hot Fixes. If those resources fail to resolve an issue, we can start a problem resolution call that will have support engineers at Microsoft working directly on your problem.
Who is covered by our support?
- All UNT areas are eligible for support.
What products are covered by our support?
- Microsoft Windows 200x Server Platform
- Active Directory
- Server Applications (i.e. SQL Server, IIS, etc.)
- Windows NT support is limited to upgrade assistance only
When you encounter a problem with a Microsoft product, here is the course of action to take:
- Consult the Microsoft Knowledgebase, Microsoft Premier Support Online, Newsgroups or any resource available to you.
- If you are unable to solve the issue, contact our support team for assistance either through the HelpDesk or a Remedy ticket.
- If the problem still cannot be resolved, we will contact our Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Microsoft and determine if a support call is warranted.
- Depending on the severity of the problem, up to 24/7 continuous support is available from Microsoft.
