A man named Chris Young ran for mayor of Providence in Tuesday's Democratic primary. He finished third out of four candidates, with a little more than 1,000 votes (about 5 percent of the total).
We only mention him because the last time he ran for mayor, in 2010, it was epic. As in, epically awkward.
But it was also kind of adorable, because he proposed to his girlfriend during a candidate's debate.
On Tuesday, Young increased his share of the vote by three points from the last go-round. Perhaps the key this time was not singing on the local news.
