I don't really have a comment regarding the post but am curious about something. This is the first post I've seen posted by a woman regarding the show Mad Men. I don't watch it (I did watch one episode which did not entice me to follow it) and do not know anyone who watches it, which is why its popularity is baffling to me. So, nonscientifically, I just assumed it's more popular with men and with the nonacademic field. I'm sure I'm totally off the mark on that but I'm curious as to what you've observed.
I mostly hear women reporting on watching MM. FWIW.
