Why is it that we may not download full text from PMC w scripts? Isnt a copyright issue. New archives needn't have that restriction, yeah?

@researchremix Only Google, Yahoo and MSN are allowed to (assuming you mean the full text HTML under /pmc/articles/). -
@invisiblecomma yup. Have they been given explicit permission, do you know? I've been assuming restriction was due to publisher pressure.. -
@researchremix http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/robots.txt doesn't prevent GoogleBot, Slurp and MSNBot from accessing /pmc/articles/, but does for User-agent: * -
@invisiblecomma interesting. thanks.
@researchremix robot segregation in its purest form: http://www.sciencedirect.com/robots.txt

@invisiblecomma just written a blog post where I include these links and give you a shout out. Thanks again, Alf. http://researchremix.wordpress.com/2013/03/13/why-google/ … -
@invisiblecomma@researchremix Robots.txt has no importance. Opening access to Googlebot's IP address makes the real difference.
