The Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF), founded in 1968 is an institution of Bielefeld University. It is an institute open to scientists from all disciplines and all countries to organize interdisciplinary projects, conferences or workshops.

CSCS is a broadly interdisciplinary program at the University of Michigan designed to encourage and facilitate research and education in the general area of nonlinear, dynamical and adaptive systems. Their faculty represent nearly every college of the University.
- International Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Human Sciences (ICIRHS)
ICIRHS aims to facilitate and nurture interdisciplinary research in social sciences and the humanities as well as serving as a meeting place for students and researchers to employ interdisciplinary methods and theories in understanding and, developing and transforming socio-cultural dynamics.

CIRET is a non-profit organization based out of Paris, founded in 1987. Their aim is to develop new, transdcisciplinary approaches to research. CIRET strives to bring together knowledge and people from different areas af activity and specialization.
- Jean Nicod Institute: Research at the Interface between the Cognitive Sciences, Social Sciences, and the Humanities
Hosted by the Ecole Normale Superieure and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, the Jean Nicod Institute conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of the cognitive sciences, the social sciences and the humanities. Collaborative research among philosophers, cognitive psychologists, developmental psychologists, neuropsychologists and cognitive neuroscientists emphasizes four main topics: language, communication and cognition; the nature and role of mental content; perception and action: nonperceptual content; and society, culture and cognition.
- John Hope Franklin Center for Interdisciplinary & International Studies at Duke University
The John Hope Franklin center for Interdisciplinary and International Studies is "a unique consortium of programs committed to revitalizing notions of how knowledge is gained and exchanged." Participants from various disciplinary backgrounds converge to examine current pressing social and political issues such as race relations, equality and opportunity among diverse populations, and the implications of globalization. The goal is to bring together people from the humanities and the social sciences to contribute to a greater understanding of these issues.
- NINCH: National Initiative for a Networked Cultural Heritage
NINCH is a non-profit coalition of diverse arts, humanities, and social sciences organizations "created to assure leadership from the cultural community in the evolution of the digital environment." Through public outreach and education, and development of platforms and frameworks for discussion and projects, NINCH hopes to benefit and advance the cultural community by making cultural knowledge widely available and accessible.
- Northern Arizona University Center for Sustainable Environments
The CSE is housed in NAU's College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences. Through collaboration with other campus groups, non-profit and federal organizations, and members of the community, the CSE seeks to reduce ecological impacts of food production and transport, and to reduce energy consumption and waste. Through the CSE, students may pursue a B.S. in Environmental Sciences, a B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Studies, and a M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Policy.
- Michigan State University Center for Ethics and Humanities in the Life Sciences
The Center's mission is to support "reflective practice in health care and science" through teaching, writing, research, and public outreach that brings the resources of ethics and humanities to these fields. For example, in addition to its public outreach and education commitments, the Center is currently evaluating medical students' and residents' understanding of basic ethical principles and topics under an AMA grant.
- Online Ethics Center at the National Academy of Engineering
OEC provides resources for incorporating ethics into engineering classrooms, as well as other resources such as articles, essays and case studies on various issues. There are also discussions and guidelines for conducting responsible research.
- Social Science Research Institute at Duke University
SSRI strives to be a resource to all social science departments and centers at Duke. Through the programs and events they host, they claim to foster the creation and dissemination of new interdisciplinary knowledge in the social sciences. Their diverse group of affiliates enables SSRI to contribute to knowledge in the service of society. They claim their scholars connect research to policy and practice, integrate knowledge and service, and make the translation between theory and practice. Their research bridges basic research to real solutions or interventions.
- Washington University Law Center for Interdisciplinary Studies
The Washington University School of Law's Center for Interdisciplinary Studies supports interdisciplinary legal research and scholarship. Rather than looking at how law interacts with other disciplines, this center explores issues that require being thought through together with the expertise other disciplines offer.
