An evening of Denton poets, artists, filmmakers and musicians sharing art about our place. The event is free and open to the public.
Film
Visible Spectrum (11 min) Directed by Frederick Dent - When I met Soren, a boy with autism, his parents and I were surprised when he climbed into my lap to look through my camera. So began an adventure into consciousness and perception as Soren learned to use a camera to represent his world and express his experience. Soren and I developed an extraordinary friendship as he learned to make visible what could not be spoken.
The Robin Hood of Texas (17 min) Directed by Jerry Westergaard - In history, Sam Bass was an illiterate and mediocre bandit who made one big haul; but he became a legend in Texas and helped make the Texas Rangers the police force it is today. This film looks at the history of the man and the creation of the outlaw legend as seen in society.
Crazy Diamond (10min) Directed by Hanny Lee - Biography of Joe Rivas, a man lives a full life despite the severe disability caused by cerebral palsy.
All three films were made in Denton about Denton subjects. Crazy Diamond won the Audience Choice Short Documentary at the 2010 Thin Line Film Fest.
