The perpetual growth myth … promotes the impossible idea that indiscriminate economic growth is the cure for all the world’s problems, while it is actually the disease that is at the root cause of our unsustainable global practices.

This may well be true. The problem is that such a message doesn’t really jive with neoliberalism.

Of course, if the message from this group (the past 18 winners of the Blue Planet Prize) is correct, our planet may well change our politics for us ….
