The Entrepreneurial Generation – NYTimes.com

The self today is an entrepreneurial self, a self that’s packaged to be sold.

I think Deresiewicz has this backward, though — the self today is packaged to be sold because we are in an entrepreneurial age. And that need not mean selling out. Instead, it could signal resistance within capitalism to the idea that all value can be reduced to monetary value. But this would require an enriched notion of the entrepreneur, one that Dersiewicz seems not to embrace.

Can one see the Occupy movement as entrepreneurial? If not, then one is enthralled with money.
