I watched the SCOTUS ruling today on ACA, in real time online, on scotusblog while bouncing between Sullivan’s Daily Dish, the NYTs, Drudge, and others. Sullivan too was collating comments from all over. And he posted screen captures of both FOX and CNN that (erroneously) claimed that the individual mandate had gone down.
Meanwhile, last night on the Daily Show Stewart clipped reports from Fox News where Fox compared this and that Obama contretemps as “worse than Watergate.” Stewart: ‘Obama is 4 times worse than Nixon!’
Then combine this with the demographic fact that TV watching is increasingly skewed toward old folks.
It all suggests that we are witnessing the death of TV news. Fox, then, represents part of the evolutionary logic of the medium, as news sources move off-TV to other locations.
