Updates, Cast Announcement, and AnimeFest!

I admit I’m horrible at updating my site. I update my Facebook page more often because it’s easy to do from my phone wherever my busy life takes me! But, at least I have some good news for you!

I’m happy to report that I will be returning to Anime North Texas  as a guest this year to impart more of my vast knowledge concerning manga and voice acting. (Okay, might want to subtract the vast knowledge regarding voice acting, I’m still learning a lot about that, hehe!) Hopefully I will see some of you there!

As far as cast announcement: Did you know that you can totally hear these vocal chords of mine in A Certain Magical Index Season 2? I’m an announcer at a sporting event and some girl with a star clip in her hair. And, true to the other characters I’ve played, she too has short brown hair. So, you should check it out, plus there are tons of other crazy talented people in the show as well! 

Lastly, thanks to all of those who came to see me at AnimeFest! It was an absolute blast, plus I got like 200 street passes on my 3DS, score!

Cast Announcements

FUNimation has certainly been busy over the last year, and I am privileged to have had the opportunity to work on some of these new titles that you all have been hearing about.

1.) You can hear me as the female announcer in Haganai Next in the 4th episode. I’m hosting a live action show at the theme park. This was actually my first role ever, and I was just so excited to be a part of everything. I think it shows in the character as well.

2.) Next I had the oppurtunity to play an AST solider in episode 6 “Hot Springs of Love” in Date A Live. I pop in and out of the episode a couple of times. It was such a fun anime to be in!

3.) My last announcement is for Ben-To. My role isn’t as big in this one, but you can hear me in the background a couple of times and I do get a good scream in as a high school girl.

That’s it for now, but who knows what the future holds? I can’t wait to invade your TV with my awesome vocal chords!

Bring on 2014!

game_day_girlCan you believe 2013 is almost over? Where did the year go? It’s been a fantastic year for me with a lot of amazing opportunities. I’ve got to meet so many really cool people this year. It’s nice to connect with fellow anime/manga/all things geeky fans. By the way, did you know you can hear my vocal talent in the new Evangelion 3.33 movie? I’m one of the background voices when the ship is under attack. Look for my name in the credits at the end of the movie!

Also, I recently was asked to join a really cool group. The group is called “Voice Balloons Draw-ma Club” and it’s where voice actors and artists in the DFW area get together once a month and create art for charity. We sell our collaborative art pieces in charity auctions at conventions. The group currently comprises of Sonny Strait, Micah Solusod, Aphia Yu, Scott Freeman, Tia Ballard, Josh Grelle and myself. Soon we will have a Facebook page for our awesome group, so stay tuned for that information. In the meantime, if you are a convention that is having a charity auction and would like to include something from our group, please contact us!

So far for 2014 I am booked for Helio-Con on January 26th,  Mini A-kon on February 22nd, and Project A-kon 25. I will also be doing a manga drawing workshop in Krum, TX on March 1st. If you are a library or a convention and are interested in booking me, please contact me at kriscomics@gmail.com.

I’m Now a Voice Actress

Right after Project A-kon I was given the exciting new opportunity to do something that I’ve always wanted to do – voice act. I’m happy and proud to announce that I have been voice acting for FUNimation, and I’m so incredibly grateful to them for this opportunity. I can’t talk about anything I’ve been in yet, but when I can I will definitely post about it along with links and the works. ^_^

Also, I am re-releasing Enchanted. It now updates every Wednesday and you can read it for free on Manga Magazine.

The last couple of manga workshops in Mesquite and Allen were a blast and I had so much fun meeting aspiring comic creators. Hopefully they learned something useful from my ranting!

The next stop is AnimeFEST. I will be in the Bizarre Bazaar and of course selling original anime paintings in the art show. If you’re attending please swing by and say hello!

Project A-kon 24 Interview

Wow, Project A-kon 24 was unbelievable! The convention was just huge but the best part was getting to see all of our fans and meet new people. I had a lot of people show up to the Draw Manga panel on Friday and I think it went pretty well. Hopefully it helped everyone who wants to make their own manga or comics one day. I had a great interview with The Nerd Show on Saturday and they recorded it and graciously let me upload the video to my own YouTube channel.

The Gaming With the Stars Charity Event turned out awesome and I just want to thank everyone who paid to play for charity. I had so much fun playing Soul Calibur V. Some of you are so good! I’m just a button masher at heart. I did win the charity event which means that all the money raised for the whole night was donated to the American Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Thanks again to everyone who stopped by the table and bought a comic or print. Check out my convention schedule to see where I’ll turn up next!

Live on the Radio this Sunday!

This Sunday May 25th at 7:00 PM Central, I will be live in the studio with The Nerd Show to talk about Project A-kon happening right here in Dallas next week, May 31st – June 2nd! You can listen live on 1190 AM, or on iHeart Radio (keyword 1190).

I have made a new page specifically listing my convention/ workshop appearances. The list was getting so long I couldn’t just keep posting about it in my news feed. I guess that’s a good problem to have!

Enchanted Chapter Five is on its way here as we speak, and I can’t wait to break open that box and see the new comics. They will be for sale at Project A-kon.

I will also be conducting a couple of panels at Project A-kon. I will be teaching a Drawing Manga panel on Friday, and jumping in with some other professionals on Saturday to talk about how to get into the business as a comic book artist. It is going to be a blast! See you there!

Mini A-kon = Mega Fun!

There is nothing mini about how much fun Mini A-kon was this year! There was an estimated 3, 200 people packed into the Denton Public Library and I drew an estimated 40 people as anime characters. (Talk about your hand cramp!) We sold all but two of the “A Day in the Life of a Cat Girl” comics that we brought, but worry not because I will have more for sale at Ushicon in just TWO weeks!

The comics panel was an awesome combination of seven spectacular artists (including moi) and we had a great time answering everyone’s questions about the ins and outs of comic and art creating.

To wrap things up I was live on the radio with the Nerd Show Sunday night to talk about all of the cool things that happened at Mini A-kon. You can check out the broadcast on YouTube here.

Mini A-kon VI

Hello hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! Kriscomics had an awesome 2012 (thanks to all of our fans and friends!) and we’re really looking forward to what 2013 will bring.

Our first event of 2013 will be Mini A-kon in Denton on January 26th at the Denton Public Library! This is my third year returning as a guest and I am just so excited to be invited back. The event is free to get in and has tons of panels, guests, and fun! Also I will be debuting my newest manga in its print edition: “A Day in the Life of a Cat Girl!” Of course I will also have chapters 1-4 of “Enchanted” for sale as well as prints, buttons, and key chains.
