The University of Richmond will host the Hays and Margaret Crimmel Colloquium on Tuesday, Nov. 2 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the Carole Weinstein International Center Commons. The focus of this year’s colloquium is “Liberal Arts and Interdiscipinarity.”
Refreshments will be served at 3:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion at 4 p.m. featuring Dr. Elizabeth Coleman, Dr. Karri Holley and Dr. Robert Frodeman.
Dr. Elizabeth Coleman, president of Bennington College, is widely recognized in the United States and abroad for her vision for the liberal arts and their societal role.
Dr. Karri Holley is an assistant professor of higher education in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Technology Studies at The University of Alabama. She is the author of “Understanding Interdisciplinary Challenges and Opportunities in Higher Education.”
Dr. Robert Frodeman is the director of the Center for the Study of Interdisciplinarity and a professor of philosophy in the Department of Philosophy and Religion Studies at the University of North Texas. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the “Oxford Handbook of Interdisciplinarity.”
