America COMPETES Act
- The Federal Register posted a notice on February 26th requesting public comment on requirement for all students and postdoctoral researchers involved in NSF proposals to be educated in the responsible and ethical conduct of research (RCR). Contact us if you're interested in discussing this further.
- Section of the America Competes Act relevant to NSF (of specific interest are sections 7007, 7008, 7009, and 7022). To view H.R. 2272 in its entirety, click here.

- Read Britt Holbrook and Robert Frodeman's article "Answering NSF's Question: What Are the Broader Impacts of the Proposed Activity?" from the "Professional Ethics Report.

- See the revised version of the "NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG). As quoted from within the NSF site, "One of the most significant changes to the PAPPG is implementation of the mentoring provisions of the America COMPETES Act. Each proposal that requests funding to support postdoctoral researchers must include, as a separate section within the 15-page project description, a description of the mentoring activities that will be provided for such individuals. Proposals that do not include a separate section on mentoring activities within the Project Description will be returned without review (see the PAPP Guide Part I: Grant Proposal Guide Chapter II.C.2.d for further information)."
