CAPR Workshop -- Washington, DC -- April 2010

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together CAPR researchers, researchers with related expertise, and some of the main users of this research for a mid-term assessment and re-orientation of CAPR research. This will both allow users to affect the course of this research and aid with the dissemination of CAPR results beyond the academic community.  In sum, we seek to break down the barriers between the producers and users of knowledge in order to facilitate the co-production of useful knowledge.
Our questions:

  • What different models for incorporating societal impacts considerations into the grant proposal peer review process can we identify?
  • How does the incorporation of societal impacts into peer review affect our understanding of expertise? All participants will come having read a small set of readings distributed prior to the workshop.

All participants will come having read a small set of readings distributed prior to the workshop. 15- 20 minute presentations will launch group discussions. A daily reporter will collect suggestions for further collaborative problem solving.
