This is transdisciplinarity at it most fun, if not at its finest. I’m pretty sure only a Canadian astronaut could pull something like this off. But it’s not ‘just’ outreach. If you read the Economist article, you’ll learn some valuable lessons about how really strange our copyright laws are. (Its even more strange when you realize that copyright, like peer review, started as a way to encourage people to share their work.)
