Gastronanza: Archetapas
December 29, 2012 | 7–9 pm
Artists Nestor Topchy and Robert M. Rosenberg, performing as Gastronanza, invite participants to enter their portable Gelatinearia, a welded steel chapel on wheels, to sample ten unique customized flavored shapes of vegetarian pâté de fruits gelatin, or Archetapas, matching flavors to shapes from geometrical designs similar to those found in pysanky, the intricately patterned Ukrainian Easter eggs. An edible work of art and an empirical inquiry into the universal experience of shape, color, and flavor, and to determine the archetypal significance of the results.
