Triple A Baseball Stadium Public Art Project

The City of El Paso Public Art Program of the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department seeks to commission three professional artists or artist teams to design, fabricate and install site-integrated artwork or artworks for the El Paso AAA Baseball Stadium. This call is open to local artists or artist teams only.

Project Description

The City of El Paso is proposing the development of a new first class and state of the art ballpark. The ballpark will have natural turf and be an open-air facility that will serve as the home of the new Team for El Paso. It will also have the capability to host concerts, sporting events and community-oriented events. Artists are encouraged to consider several areas, including the main entry plaza, and create lively and inviting public spaces both for day and night viewing. The project is open to any media appropriate to the site and climate, and the innovative use of water, lighting and paving materials is invited.

Eligibility Requirements

This project is open to artists living in the El Paso, Texas. Artists applying for this project must have previous public art and design team experience and an understanding of public and community interaction.

Budget

Total project budget is $150,000 to include design, fabrication, and installation. This is an invitational call to Local artists. The budget is all-inclusive and must cover design fees, travel expenses, all materials and fabrication costs, insurance costs, engineering expenses, shipping and transportation to the site, and installation.
