FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY AND WOMEN HERSTORY MONTH
CALL FOR ARTISTS
Our youth hold the capability to bring about positive change for the future. Embracing the knowledge of the past may help guide them towards that goal. Please join us this year as Creative Women Unite (CWU) and Multicultural Education and Counseling Through the Arts (MECA) make the call to artists for "Carrying the Seeds of the Past Into the Future", the essence of strengthening our legacy, empowering our youth and enhancing our future.
We are accepting submissions from female visual and performing artists of all ages and backgrounds. ALL submissions must include your name, artist bio, phone number, email, and address.
VISUAL ARTISTS: Please email high resolution image(s) (jpg, png, eps, ai, or psd) to Eva Martinez, eva.mecahouston@gmail.com with the subject title: CWU Visual Art Submission. Also include: title, description of media used, the dimensions and weight, price*, and 2-3 sentences describing the relation to the theme, "Carrying the Seeds of the Past Into the Future.” Artists will be notified of the selected submission by Monday, Feb. 18th, 5pm. The selected artwork will be due at MECA (1900 Kane St. Houston TX 77007) C/O Eva, by Feb. 22nd 5pm and will be exhibited through March 28th. *Artists will have an opportunity to sell their art and offer 25% and above of the total sale to MECA.
PERFORMING ARTISTS: Please email a sample of your work to Joyce Day, cancega@yahoo.com. Include: form of expression; tech list/stage plot; details of materials needed for your performance.
ALL SUBMISSIONS are due Friday, Feb. 15th at 5pm. The events will be held on March 8th, 6p-10p & March 9th 4p-10p. All proceeds will be contributed to MECA .
