Glasstire founder waves the online arts journalism banner in new NEA blog

Print Friendly

Glasstire founder Rainey Knudson’s has been invited to blog on the NEA’s website; in her first post she explains the alarming decline among print journalists who have been, like dinosaurs, suffering a mass extinction over the past half-decade. Continuing her fatalistic  thought into the future, she foretells the doom of even mildly discursive writing online: “I don’t know what our language will be like in a couple of centuries—for the great-great-grandchildren of the first texters, this paragraph may read like Beowulf.” Her point, though, is a positive one: through all the technological changes past and to come, people will “continue to discuss the art of their time in the language of their time.”
