Visitor Services Intern
Dallas Contemporary seeks a Visitor Services Intern for a semester or year-long internship. Internships are unpaid, but can be applied toward course credit. The time commitment is 1 day (minimum 5 hours) per week, Tuesday- Friday. This may be increased to two days per week to meet course hour requirements.
We seek a career-minded individual to assist with visitor services and public programs. The Visitor Services Intern will gain exposure to both the front-of-house and behind-the-scenes workings of the museum through serving at the front desk and helping to plan and execute public programs.
Duties:
◊ Facilitating public access to the museum
◊ Working to develop and expand visitor information
◊ Aiding in marketing and promotion of the museum and exhibits
Qualifications:
◊ Students or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
◊ Outgoing individual who is comfortable with customer interactions in person and by phone.
◊ Must be organized and able to work independently on tasks
◊ Prior customer service, marketing, museum and/or office experience preferred.
Hours: 5-10 hours per week
Compensation: Unpaid
Start date: January-April 2012 (flexible)
