Lighting Technician/Art Preparator at SAMA
San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) seeks a Full Time Hourly Lighting Technician/Art Preparator to join our Exhibits and Registrar Departments. This position will take responsibility for properly managing and maintaining exhibit lighting for museum, as well as ensuring proper handling of fine art work. Art Preparator will be expected to assist in supporting an active schedule of temporary exhibitions, permanent collection installations, photography, shipping conservation, and research projects. Position requires ability to handle heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds. Must possess a valid TX driver license with an excellent driving record as position may include driving museum vehicles. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art, Art History or a related field and two years of art handling experience; should have excellent computer and office skills. Prior electrical/electronics experience preferred.
