Sponsorship
The Houston Art Car Parade is produced by the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, at 501.c3 non-profit art foundation. As Houston's largest free public art event, the parade and all Art Car Weekend events would not be possible without generous help from corporate sponsors, foundation grants, in-kind donations and individual giving.
Volunteer
The Houston Art Car Parade and all Art Car Weekend events would not be possible without the help and dedication of over 300 volunteers. Many volunteers have worked with us every year since the very beginning of the parade, over 24 years ago. It's hard work but a lot of fun too! Click here to volunteer!

Any place on Allen Parkway between Taft and Bagby is a great view, but we encourage you to come to the party before the party as the cars line up at Taft and Allen Parkway beginning at 9am - view the magnificent works of art up close and meet the artists. Parade rolls at 1pm! | In 1987, the Houston International Festival, the City's official celebration of the arts, asked the Orange Show to organize a parade to build on the success of the New Music Parade. The Orange Show agreed to produce an event dedicated to art cars. Roadside Attractions: The Art Car Parade was born in April, 1988 with a 40 car parade seen by an estimated 2,000.
