Sedrick Huckaby: From Earth to Heaven

AMSET has published this catalogue to accompany the exhibition of the same
title by Fort Worth, Texas based artist Sedrick Huckaby. Huckaby creates "quilt
paintings" and portraits of his family in thick, impasto paint. His paintings
embrace the defining and personal moments of family life, and show his
inspiration of his family, faith and his African-American heritage.

 
Rusty Scruby: Playing in the Sand

This beautiful catalogue was published by AMSET to accompany the
exhibition Playing in the Sand by artist Rusty Scruby. It features images
of his dynamically engineered photographic reconstruction sculptures of
beach scenes. The analytically derived two and three-dimensional works
demonstrate the perfect balance Scruby achieves by blending his learned
abilities in math and music with art. Using a series of repetitious
photographs, drawings, paper or plastic, he cuts, folds and weaves
together complex constructions.

self-taught artist and local legend Felix "Fox" Harris. Designed to
accompany the semi-permanent gallery dedicated to Harris'' amazing
totem-like folk art sculptures and interactive Web site, the book
features photographs by fine art photographer Keith Carter and an essay by Patricia
Carter, art collectors who befriended Harris in the 1980s. Also included is
a historical overview of the artwork as part of the AMSET permanent
collection by Executive Director Lynn Castle.
