I am currently seeking actresses between the ages of 18 and 32 to lip-sync famous horror movie screams. I need a total of eight women. You will be required to act out intense, dramatic scenes in between moments of calmness. I expect it will be awkward and difficult to execute, but that is exactly what I envision. No prior experience is required, but a confident, outgoing personality is necessary. This project will culminate in a video installation that will be displayed in Present Tense, a group exhibition curated by Sapphire Williams at Lawndale Art Center January 25 – March 2, 2013.
There is no monetary compensation, but I will take headshots of all participating actresses in exchange for time and talent. I will edit and email the headshot files within two weeks of the shoot so you may print as many images as you like. Selected actresses can expect to spend up to 1 hour at my studio. I’ll email a compiled soundtrack to all participating women prior to the video shoot so that you can rehearse on your own time.
