Red Space Gallery is pleased to present Till’s Landing: an exhibition of installation work by Jenny White. The opening reception is on January 26th from 7:00 in the evening until 10:00pm. The exhibition will be on view until March 18th. There will also be special viewing event on March 9th during SXSW. Please join us to view Till’s Landing by Jenny White.

For Till’s Landing, White will be exploring the concept of mass embarrassment. She will be presenting a site-specific installation exploring this theme as it relates to the international news story of the “Balloon Boy”. The Balloon Boy is a nickname given to a hoax event in Colorado in which a couple released a large balloon into the atmosphere and falsely told authorities their son was inside, their claim attracted international attention and military intervention. White’s interest falls in the escapist nature of the media attention given to the incident in addition to the moments following the discovery of the couple’s false claims, when the majority of those watching found themselves duped. White seeks to capture the enigmatic nature of a personal emotion on a grand scale.
