Both lake and river lock gates are achieving full open status and at this time there are no width restriction for lock navigation. However the lake areas surrounding the lock are heavily iced with thicknesses reaching four inches or better. The riverside of the lock has similar conditions making it extremely difficult to navigate. (2/4/09) CHICAGO HARBOR LOCK remains fully functional with no width restrictions. Navigational conditions around the Lock area are still severe with ice thickness increasing. This is especially true for riverside were ice thickness has reached 10 inches or better. (2/12/09) CHICAGO HARBOR LOCK update. Due to the unseasonably warm weather virtually all of the ice on the lake and river surrounding the Lock area has disappeared. Navigational conditions near the Lock have returned to normal. 326 O'Brien 030409 U -1.00 -0.40 0 A30 0 CL 0 0 2 2 00:00 1600 L -2.10 -0.50 W33 04-MAR-2008 0700 hours T.J.
