Voter Registration Drives  Print

A Voter Registration Drive (VRD) is defined as the distribution and collection of voter registration applications by two or more persons for delivery to a county clerk and recorder.  By conducting a VRD, you are taking part in the democratic process. The decision to conduct a voter registration drive is an important one and should be taken very seriously.  Voter registration is fundamental to the election process.

VRDs must register with the Secretary of State on an annual basis; authorizations to conduct drives are valid until December 31st of the calendar year in which they were signed.  The VRD organizer must complete a mandatory training provided by the Secretary of State before circulating any voter registration forms.

Please contact the Secretary of State’s office for further information.
