Sergeant:
|
- Eligible to apply after completion of the probationary period with four (4) years of experience OR any combination of education and/or experience in criminal justice, corrections security totaling four (4) years.
|
|
Lieutenant:
|
- Eligible to apply after the completion of the probationary period with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field OR any combination of post-secondary education and/or experience in criminal justice, corrections security or a related field totaling five (5) years with at least one (1) year served as in the rank of Sergeant at MDC.

|
Captain:
|
- Eligible to apply with two (2) years of experience as a Lieutenant with MDC plus eight (8) years of corrections experience and an Associate’s Degree in a related field or post secondary education equivalent to 60 semester hours OR any combination of post secondary education and/or experience in corrections totaling ten (10) years with two (2) years experience as a Lieutenant at MDC.
