- Total children served equals the number of children in care on the first day plus the number of children entering care.
- The entry rate is the percent of children entering care out of the total number of children served.
- The exit rate is the percent of children exiting care out of the total number of children served.
- The trend rate is the percentage change in the number of children in care (the number of children in care on the last day less the number of children in care on the first day) out of the total number of children in care on the first day of the reporting period.
