Air District Fact

Since 1955 the Bay Area Air Quality Management District has served as a regional agency regulating stationary sources of air pollution, such as factories, industrial sites and gasoline stations. We also monitor asbestos removal during renovation and demolition.

Actions

The Air District is actively involved in encouraging community action to improve air quality. The Air District does so by funding community-based air pollution reduction efforts and through convening or sponsoring conferences or conference attendance by local air quality activists.
