Subject: Extension of Secretary's Order No. 3150
Section 1 Purpose. The purpose of this Order is to extend the expiration date of Secretary's Order No. 3150 which describes the delegations of line authorities to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). At this time, the BIA and the Joint Tribal/BIA/DOI Advisory Task Force on Bureau of Indian Affairs Reorganization are considering changes in delegations of authority and organizational structure to more effectively address Administration priorities. An extension will provide the BIA and the task force with the time necessary to develop appropriate delegations of authority to effectively meet developing organizational needs.
Section 2 Authority. This Order is issued in accordance with the authority provided by Section 2 of Reorganization Plan No. 3 of 1950 (64 Stat. 1262), as amended.
Section 3 Extension of Order. Secretary's Order No. 3150, as amended, which is due to expire on December 31, 1993, is extended.
Section 4 Effective Date. This Order is effective upon signature. It will remain in effect until its provisions are converted to the Departmental Manual or until it is amended, superseded, or revoked, whichever occurs first. However, in the absence of the foregoing actions, the provisions of this Order will be considered obsolete on December 31, 1994.
