PLEASE POST LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY IN ESOL ADULT PROGRAM LAGUARDIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE/CUNY CENTER FOR IMMIGRANT EDUCATION & TRAINING DIVISION OF ADULT & CONTINUING EDUCATION Assistant Director, Center for Immigrant Education & Training (CUNY Research Foundation) The Assistant Director, along with the Director, provides overall guidance and direction to faculty and staff at the Center. In particular, the Assistant Director supervises the coordinators of the different programs at the Center, oversees program operations, seeks to sustain a high level of program quality and to ensure that program goals are met. The Assistant Director works with the Director and a dedicated team of program coordinators and full-time instructors on new program development and enhancement of current programs through projects such on-going professional development, development of curricula and instructional resources and development of new program initiatives. Some evening hours are required. The Center for Immigrant Education & Training is relatively new (two year-old) initiative at LaGuardia, with a commitment to developing high quality, innovative programs to meet the needs of low-income immigrant adults in our neighboring communities. The Center currently has a number of different program strands designed to address the many goals our immigrant adult students have in their roles as parents, workers or community members. Qualifications: B.A in ESOL, Adult Education or related field. Graduate degree preferred. Experience in administration / staff development roles in adult ESOL programs desired. Computer literacy and knowledge of commonly used word processing and database programs also desired. Other qualifications: excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, capacity to manage and lead staff in developing innovative approaches to program development, and to work with diverse organizations. Salary range: $50,000 to $55,000. Excellent benefits.
