Frequently Asked Questions

Will my family be allowed to travel and live overseas with me?

Yes, families are allowed to accompany federal employees to their overseas assignments, except for a few countries where there are security concerns or lack of education or health facilities.
Eligible family members must be medically cleared before they accompany a CDC employee on an overseas assignment. If a family member has a serious medical condition or chronic disease that requires special treatment or accommodations, overseas
assignments may not be appropriate.
