About Ask a Lunar Scientist

Have a question about the Moon? You’ve come to the right place.

Ask an Lunar Scientist is a service to answer questions from the public about lunar science. Begin by searching our database of previous questions and answers. If you can’t find the information there, click Submit a Question and have your question personally answered by the NASA Lunar Science Institute Senior Scientist.

Note that because of the backlog, it typically takes 2-3 weeks before your answer is posted. Also note that we don’t do school homework, and we try to select questions for reply that are focused on Lunar science.

Below you will find a list of questions that have video answers available.
