Smoke from the California wildfires and your asthma
water Air Quality Index (AQI) for your area
In response to questions about air quality because of the California wildfires, the Oregon Asthma Program is providing links to current air quality information. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Index (AQI) provides air quality information for cities throughout Oregon. Green is good, yellow is moderate, orange is unhealthy for sensitive groups, and red is unhealthy for all groups. Please visit the AQI to get air quality information in your area. The Lane Regional Air Protection Agency provides specific air quality information for Lane County. AirNow provides state and national air quality information.

People with asthma can be sensitive to air quality. If you have asthma it is important to be aware of air quality and know how it affects you. People with asthma should always carry a rescue inhaler. If you are a parent or guardian, please discuss air quality as an asthma trigger with your child's school.
