Fires in Madagascar

This true-color image of Madagascar was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Terra satellite on July 28, 2002. Numerous fire (red dots) were detected on the island, which is located off the southeast coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean.
