Each story on this NIFL-recommended site links to national archives,
libraries, museums, governmental institutions around the world. There
are about 100,000
such links spread over eight channels, including history. Until a week
ago this learning tool was free. It is now $19.95 a year for the
service, but it is still free to academic institutions and libraries.
You just have to sign up as an academic member.
