My HS students learned about the Tsunami through reading charts, graphs and maps. For example, with lists of data, we created charts. We read charts, made conclusions, comparisons and estimated. We graphed information.

Lessons covered the parts of graphs and charts (title, data, horizontal & vertical axis, bars, etc.).

They used actual printed pages of information that can be found by searching for 'statistics', 'data', 'charts', etc. on google news.
I pulled my information from google.com news site and created lessons.

I hope that helps although it is not exactly what you requested.
