What is CAM? - CAM Practices

Biologically Based Practices

Biologically based practices involve adding dietary supplements, functional foods, and other products found in nature to one's diet. A dietary supplement is a product that contains vitamins, minerals, herbs or botanicals, amino acids, enzymes, probiotics, or other ingredients that supplement the diet. Examples of dietary supplements include vitamin B-12, St. John's wort (a botanical), and acidophilus (a probiotic).
