Parkinson's Disease
Frequently Asked Questions
11. Can other diseases resemble
Parkinson's?
Yes, a number of disorders can cause symptoms similar to those of
Parkinson's disease. People with Parkinson's-like symptoms that
result from other causes are sometimes said to have parkinsonism.
While these disorders initially may be misdiagnosed as Parkinson's
disease, certain medical tests may help to distinguish them from
the disease. Parkinson's disease is usually much more responsive to
medications than the other causes of parkinsonism.
