WASHINGTON – Congressman Dennis Cardoza, D-Merced, today announced the appointment of six students from the 18th Congressional district to the U.S. Service Academies: Nathan Bennett, Peter Choe, Michael Head, Michael LaRocque, Elizabeth Patterson, and Melissa Prater. “I want to extend my congratulations to Elizabeth, Melissa, Michael Head, Michael LaRocque, Peter and Nathan.” Cardoza said. “They should all be very proud of this achievement. The selection of nominees was based on a composite of academic factors, including junior class rank and SAT scores, along with leadership potential. The congressman’s nominations were then forwarded to the academies, which made final decisions.
