WASHINGTON – Rep. Dennis Cardoza, D-Merced, nominated Janet Lilly, the owner of Janet Lilly & Associates, Inc., of Stockton and Modesto, to be honored at the Minority Business Summit in Washington.

The summit, held today on Capitol Hill, featured minority business leaders and entrepreneurs from throughout the country discussing barriers facing their companies, helping lawmakers develop legislative solutions to address challenges.

“This was a powerful experience and will serve as a catalyst for me and the other ethnic chambers to access capital and expand business opportunities in the Central Valley,” Lilly said

Janet Lilly has over 20 years of experience in counseling people with disabilities.  Janet Lilly & Associates is a team of vocational consultants who have developed an expertise of labor market conditions, educational and employment resources to assist in job transition and career planning.

Lilly is an active community leader, exhibited by her participation in Stockton’s winning delegation to the All America City competition.  She is also president of the African American Chamber of Commerce.
