WASHINGTON, DC – The United States House of Representatives passed a resolution this week recognizing October 8, 2008 as 4-H National Youth Science Day. House Resolution 1390, introduced by Congressman Cardoza, encourages children to pursue science careers and commends 4-H for taking steps to keep students interested in science.

The resolution also calls for a “National Science Experiment” that will engage youth across the country in environmental issues and groundwater contamination.

“These days agriculture and the environment are inseparable,” said Congressman Cardoza. “This resolution is significant in that it promotes the needed scientific education for tomorrow’s agriculture leaders.”
