SUBJECT:   Fifteenth Street Safety and Security

By virtue of the authority vested in the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, including the authority in 40 U.S.C. § 8102, 5 U.S.C. § 301 and Treasury Order 101-05 (May 17, 2002), I hereby determine that:

  1. The Main Treasury Building in Washington, D.C., is a building owned by the Federal Government and used by law enforcement authorities subject to the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Treasury.
  2. The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Security has advised me that, in order to maintain the security of the Main Treasury Building, it is necessary to prohibit any person or entity from conducting business on the Fifteenth Street, NW, sidewalk that is adjacent to the Main Treasury Building and its grounds.

Therefore, I order that no person or entity may conduct any business, including, but not limited to, vending, on the west sidewalk of Fifteenth Street, NW, bounded on the north by the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, and on the south by Alexander Hamilton Place, NW.
