. The U. S. Department of Education (ED), Office of Indian Education (OIE) intends to award a sole source purchase order to National Indian Education Association (NIEA), 700 N. Fairfax Street, Suite 210, Alexandria, VA 22314. NIEA holds an annual conference attended by American Indian and Alaska Native tribal representatives, educators, parents and students. The conference is attended by the largest single gathering of such participants, a majority of whom are grantees of the Office of Indian Education. Approximately 5,000 participants are expected to attend the 2004 conference. The Office of Indian Education is planning to conduct a total of eight technical assistance workshops at National Indian Education Association (NIEA) annual convention to be held in Denver, Co October 5-9, 2005. The services to be provided ED/OIE by the NIEA include: 1) Meeting space at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver, Colorado for eight workshops during the week of October 5-9; 2) Convention registration for up to nine representatives of the OIE staff; 3) Two prime connected exhibit booths at the convention site during the conference dates; 4) Meeting space for individual technical assistance sessions by OIE staff for grantees; 5) A prime full page display ad advertising the Office of Indian Education workshops and No Child Left Behind. This notice of intent is not a request for quotes. However, all proposals received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources may submit a quotation that, if timely received, shall be considered by the agency.
