The U.S. Department of Education intends to solicit, negotiate, and award on a sole-source basis to Southwest Educational Development (SEDL) a follow-on to an existing contract (ED-03-CO-0048). Under Task 3 of the existing contract, SEDL has evaluated numerous after-school programs and designated certain programs as "promising." The services currently provided by SEDL under Task 3 will be expanded to include (a) the identification of up to three "promising" after-school programs worthy of rigorous Department-funded evaluation; (b) provide oversight and direction for such evaluation; and (c) collect, analyze, and disseminate results of such evaluations. This expansion of Task 3 will provide the capstone determination of effectiveness for after-school projects identified under contract ED-03-CO-0048. The solicitation will result in a cost plus fixed fee award. The name and e-mail of the individual to contact for information regarding the solicitation is Michael Moran.
