Survey-Related

Estimates of U.S. Population by Age, Sex, Race and Hispanic Origin: July 1, 2004 — National-level population estimates cross-tabulated by these demographic characteristics. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 22.)

School Enrollment — Social and Economic Characteristics of Students: October 2003 —Latest national estimates of the number of students in school — from nursery school to college — with updated information on the impact of baby boomers’ children on the student population. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 22.)

Facts for Features: Americans with Disabilities (July 26) — Statistical information from the Census Bureau’s demographic subject areas about people with disabilities; release commemorates the 15th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 22.)

Survey of Income and Program Participation Interviewers Coming — In June, interviewers will visit a national sample of randomly selected households to ask about program participation, health insurance coverage, employment, income and other topics. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 22.)

Voting and Registration in the Election of November 2004 — Current Population Survey estimates of voter turnout in the 2004 presidential election; data are provided for regions and states, as well as by citizenship status. This release of Internet tables also includes demographic characteristics of both those old enough to vote and people who reported they cast ballots. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 26.)

American Housing Survey for Selected Metro Areas in 2004 — First statistics from this survey for 13 metropolitan areas, covering a wide variety of housing topics, e.g., presence of air-conditioning, housing costs and satisfaction with neighborhood. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of June 5.)

2002 Economic Census: Geographic Area Series — Data for states, metropolitan areas, counties and cities — published by state and industry sector. Information on the number of establishments and employees; payroll; and sales and receipts or value of shipments. Released on a flow basis at <http://www.census.gov/econ/census02/guide/geosumm.htm>.

Survey-Related

Survey of State and Local Government Employment and Payroll: 2004 — Summary data on the number of employees and gross payrolls by government function for the nation, states and the District of Columbia. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of May 29.)

Annual Capital Expenditures (ACES): 2003 — ACES is part of a comprehensive program designed to provide more detailed and timely information on capital investment in structures and equipment by non-farm businesses. The 2003 estimates presented are based on data collected from a sample of 45,994 companies with employees and 15,000 businesses without employees. For those companies with employees, capital expenditures data are published for 130 industries. Additional data in this year's report include spending by detailed types of structures and equipment. Also, total capital expenditures, with no industry detail, are shown for the businesses without employees. <http://www.census.gov/prod/2005pubs/ace-03.pdf>
