Voting Age Population: 2000 — Internet tables show the number of people age 18 and over by race, ethnicity, gender and citizenship status for the nation and the states. Also, voting age population, gender and citizenship for the nation’s counties. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 8.)

Non-Census

Mini Historical Statistics — Series of 55 tables with historical statistics on demographic and economic topics such as population, education, immigration, crime, energy supply, stock prices and federal government receipts. Many of the tables contain data going back to 1900. (Scheduled for release on Feb. 9.)

Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2003 — Latest edition of the national data book, a perennial government best seller, first published in 1878. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 8.)

Children and the Households They Live In: 2000 — Social and economic characteristics of the nation’s 72 million children. Summary data for the nation, states and some large cities range from children living in their grandparents’ household to those living with foreign-born householders. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 15.)

International Brief: Global Population at a Glance: 2002 and Beyond — This look ahead (to 2050) at worldwide population trends summarizes two reports being released simultaneously: Global Population Profile: 2002 and The AIDS Pandemic in the 21st Century. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 15.)

Facts for Features: Women’s History Month — Statistical information from the Census Bureau’s demographic subject areas on women, who we celebrate in March. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 15.)

Facts for Features: St. Patrick’s Day and Irish-American Heritage Month — Statistical information from the Census Bureau’s demographic and economic subject areas pertaining to St. Patrick’s Day 2004 and Americans of Irish ancestry. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 15.)

Geographical Mobility: 2002 to 2003 — National and regional information on how often and how far people move, along with characteristics of the movers and reasons why they move. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 22.)

These Old Houses: 2001 — National and regional information on housing units built 82 or more years ago; characteristics of these units compared with units built after 1989. Data are from the 2001 American Housing Survey’s national sample. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 22.)

Economic

2002 Service Annual Survey — Data on four industry groups: Arts, Entertainment and Recreation (including performing arts, spectator sports, museums, amusements parks and gambling); Administrative Support and Waste Management (including travel and reservation services, security, employment and business support services); Other (including automotive repair shops, personal care and laundry services); and Rental and Leasing (including automotive equipment and leasing, consumer goods rental, commercial machinery and equipment rental). (Scheduled for release on Feb. 11.)

2002 Service Annual Survey: Truck Transportation, Couriers and Messengers, and Warehousing and Storage Sector — Data on general freight trucking, couriers and local messengers, warehousing and storage, size and origin of shipment, and commodities handled. (Scheduled for release on Feb. 10. )

Annual Capital Expenditures: 2002 — This report shows capital investment spending for 130 industry categories, including buildings and other structures, machinery and equipment, furniture, computers and vehicles. (Scheduled for release on Feb. 9.)

2002 Service Annual Survey: Information Sector — Data on software publishers, motion picture and sound recording, broadcasting and telecommunications, and information services and data processing services. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 8.)

2002 Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey — State reports on light and heavy trucks, minivans and sports utility vehicles, issued on a flow basis and culminating in a U.S. summary in mid-2004. Information on fuel efficiency, annual mileage, model year, primary range of operation, permanent equipment and other physical and operational characteristics. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 22.)

Television

African-American History Month: 50 Years of Change — Video news release (VNR) marks 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, with statistics on educational attainment and household income for African-Americans at the time of the Supreme Court ruling and now. Three variations of the VNR feature sound bites from Census Bureau Director Kincannon, Secretary of Education Roderick Paige and U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y. Featured Photo of the Month — The number of black families in 2002 was 8.8 million. Of these, nearly one-half (48 percent) were married-couple families. LandView 6 — 01/23/04 — Mapping software (supercedes Landview 5) allows users to query and map Census 2000 demographic profiles drawn from 100 percent and sample data. New: profiles and boundaries for 108th congressional districts and profiles for urban areas and urban clusters. Updated versions of U.S. Geological Survey’s Geographic Names Information System and the Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund sites. Set of two DVD-ROMs (one with states east of Mississippi River and the other, those west of it). A network version is expected to be released in March.
