This true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from November 8, 2002, shows the Parana River running through southern Brazil (at right). Also shown are Argentina (bottom), Paraguay (left, and southeastern Bolivia (top left). Much of what is shown is a large expanse of grassland known as the Pampas.
