Monday's Record Highs

A semi stationary front that extended southeast across western Nebraska created a transition from above normal readings over the north central to record temperatures in  southwest Nebraska.

Record highs included 81 degrees at North Platte, 79 degrees at Broken Bow, and 80 degrees in Imperial. The record high in North Platte breaks a long standing record from 1897 when the old record of 75 was reached.

Today the semi stationary front will push southeast with much colder air to spread south for the rest of the week. Daytime highs today will range from the middle 30s across the northwest sandhills into the 40s for the remainder of western and north central Nebraska.
