Captain's Biography
Captain Bibeau is a 1980 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy, a member of the first Academy class to graduate women.
She has served six years at sea, including her first assignment as a deck watch officer aboard the 180' buoy tender Spar, and in command of the USCGC Cape Henlopen in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, and USCGC Maui in Miami, Florida. Remaining operational assignments included tours in the Fifth District Operations Center, Portsmouth, Virginia, and the Seventh District Office of Law Enforcement and Intelligence in Miami, Florida.
Later in her career, she served in the Office of Personnel, Coast Guard Headquarters, as Assistant Chief of the Leadership Institute at Training Center Petaluma; Executive Assistant to the Pacific Area Commander; and most recently, Deputy Group Boston. Captain Bibeau began her current assignment as Director of Admissions at the Coast Guard Academy in July 2001.
Captain Bibeau's personal awards include five Coast Guard Commendation medals, two Achievement medals, and the Commandant's Letter of Commendation ribbon. She has earned a Master of Science in Systems Management, a Master of Public Administration, and, in 1998, a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
Captain Bibeau is married to Paul J. Bibeau and resides in Stonington, Connecticut with their two children.
